The ranks of fediverse streaming just got a lot stronger today, with the launch of The Indie Beat TV. RetroStrange community member Lime Bar has helped bring this new 24/7 streaming music channel to life. It’s like a much better version of classic MTV, with actual music videos from independent artists and creators who opted-in to having their stuff streamed. We consider The Indie Beat to be a sister channel to RetroStrange TV- we share a lot of the same goals, methods, and even code.

RetroStrange GIF Gallery Updates

We made some small but important changes to the RetroStrange GIF Gallery pages, which are now MUCH more usable on phones and tablets, as well as being easier to read and navigate anywhere you use it.

We also added some new Holiday content to the GIF library, such as A Charles Dickens Christmas (1956) and A Christmas Fantasy (1962). These are watermark-free, high quality GIFs you can use anywhere you like. Enjoy!

As we have each of the last three years, RetroStrange is using the day-after-American-Thanksgiving hangover to shine a light on the items in our catalog that aren’t quite feature length, aren’t quite TV length, they’re somewhere in between.
