Santa Claus Vs RetroStrange Movie Night: On Location

RetroStrange Movie Night returns to Niles, MI on December 21st

Happy holidays as we godless heathens say. The next RetroStrange Movie Night: On Location is December 21st, 2021, and will be coming to you live from the Niles Brewing Company in downtown Niles, MI.

This time we’re going all-in on the jolly fat man, Santa Claus, with a dynamic duo of festive features: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians and Santa Claus Vs The Devil.

If you’ve never seen the Mexican-produced Santa Claus .vs. The Devil you are in for a real treat. Wikipedia:

On December 24, Santa prepares for his yearly journey at his Toyland castle in space. He plays the organ while his children helpers from all over the world sing. Meanwhile, in Hell, Lucifer instructs his chief demon Pitch to travel to Earth and turn the children of the world against Santa (or else he will, as punishment, eat chocolate ice cream).

We’ll be showing the slightly edited for the US version, simply called Santa Claus. Both of these features will be added to RetroStrange TV for the holiday season then taken down and put back into The RSTV Vault on January 3rd.

LEFTOVERFEST II Date and Details

RetroStrange LEFTOVERFEST is this Sunday.

As we did last year, RetroStrange has reserved the weekend following US Thanksgiving to shine a light on the video content we don’t normally get to feature. Industrial shorts with odd durations, documentaries from Canada, you know the drill.

This year we’re adding a new series to RetroStrange TV with a special marathon later in the day. What will it be? You’ll just have to tune in and see.

It reads: "Frank Bigelow (Edmond O'Brien) is about to die, and he knows it. The accountant has been poisoned and has only 24 hours before the lethal concoction kills him."

The next RetroStrange Movie Night is on November 23rd, 2021. We’ll be watching the film noir classic D.O.A. starring Edmond O’Brien and Pamela Britton.

Dean Stockwell (1936 – 2021)

RetroStrange is saddened to hear of the passing of world’s greatest eyebrow actor Dean Stockwell. Mr. Stockwell was a fixture in many formative media experiences for us from the hit TV show Quantum Leap to his roles in classic David Lynch movies such as Blue Velvet.

Strangers will know him best from WEREWOLF OF WASHINGTON which we featured on RetroStrange Movie Night. Rest In Peace.
